Karen manages the day-to-day operations and leads our team with the same warmth and professionalism she has brought to every role throughout her career. Alongside her, Martyn handles the administration and technology side of the business, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Together, they have built Fresh Start Cleaning into what it is today: a fully registered Limited Company with the accountability of a professional organisation and the personal touch of a family business that genuinely cares about the people it serves.

Karen's story is one of genuine dedication to people — long before Fresh Start Cleaning existed.

Where It All Began

Over 30 years ago, Karen began her career with the Isle of Man's home help service — visiting elderly residents in their own homes, providing the kind of attentive, dignified support that makes a real difference to people's lives. That foundation of compassion and care has never left her.

A Wealth of Experience

Over the years Karen built a broad range of experience across residential care homes, guest houses, hotels and schools — taking on caring and cleaning roles that required both skill and sensitivity. Every environment taught her something new about the standards that clients and customers truly deserve.

12 Years of Business

For over 12 years, Karen worked independently as a cleaner across the Island — building lasting relationships with elderly clients in their own homes, busy young professionals, young families, and the occasional small office contract. Her reputation grew entirely through word of mouth and the trust of the people she worked for.

The Next Chapter

With the support of her family team, Karen has taken the natural next step — incorporating Fresh Start Cleaning (IOM) as a Limited Company. This move wasn't about changing what made the business special; it was about giving it the structure to grow. As a limited company, we can expand our team, take on more clients, and meet the evolving needs of households and businesses across the Isle of Man — while never losing the personal service and genuine care that has always set us apart.
